I absolutely love a man in a suit. The male form, I believe, was made to be in tailored clothing, whether it is a slick suit jacket or a delicious tuxedo. It is a smart look, flattering, it never goes out of fashion, and can make absolutely anyone appear to scrub up well.
The right clothing can completely change the way someone feels about themselves. It can make you feel more confident, more comfortable, and can even change the way other people see you. This used to be something we associated with women, but men are now increasingly fashion conscious and can spend almost as much time as their female counterparts shopping for the right outerwear.
Austin Reed, established in 1900, has a reputation for their excellent quality menswear and womenswear, particularly men’s suits and shirts, and have even over the years made suits for the rich and famous, including Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
It comes as no surprise then, to find that Austin Reed have collaborated with designer Nick Hart, Creative Director and Founder of luxury Savile Row brand Spencer Hart, to launch a new range: AR RED. Due to launch in February, just a few weeks away, this collection has rather eclectic influences, including the soul, funk and jazz trends from the 70s and 80s, down to today’s musical genius of Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys.
Austin Reed’s partnership with Nick has effectively made a collection of designer menswear accessible to high street shoppers, which is rapidly becoming more important as our men become more aware of style and fashion than perhaps ever before. What’s more, Nick’s clothing designs have been seen in the media on a number of both London and Hollywood celebrities, including but not limited to Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom, singer David Bowie, former Take That star Robbie Williams, X-factor’s Dermot O’Leary and international footballer David Beckham.
There is a lot of hype surrounding the launch of AR RED. Here is what Nick Hart had to say about the launch of this delicious collection:“Taking into consideration the extensive tailoring heritage of Austin Reed, I have designed a range in my vision that is entirely accessible and wearable for the office and exudes the style expected of a modern day gentleman who has a contemporary attitude to business-wear and style.” My favourite thing about this collection is how Nick has included some of his signature details, such as the Peak and Shawl lapels and the tailored cuts of the dresswear, while still creating and bringing an all-new look to the range.
Pieces from this exclusive luxury collection include:
- A razor-sharp slim-fit suit in teal
- A three-piece dress suit with a black satin lapel
- Waistcoats, also featuring the Hart signature lapels
- Casualwear, including a Navy Harrington bomber-style jacket and a gingham Harrington jacket
- Summer wardrobe ‘staples’ such as polo shirts and slim-leg denims and cotton chinos
It is claimed that this collection is ‘set to redefine classic tailoring’. We’ll have to wait and see!
